Maintenance Tips

Use the helpful tips below for proper care and maintenance on your streaming devices and to ensure that you’re getting the best streaming performance.

 

  1. Reboot your modem
  • Once a month, unplug the power to your modem for 2 minutes
  • Go to the Helpful Tips section to watch a video showing how to properly reboot your modem

 

  1. Reboot the device
  • Unplug the power to the streaming device for 1 minute, then plug power back in.
  • This should only be done if the box encounters issues.

 

  1. Power off the device
  • Power down or turn off the streaming device when the streaming device is not being used or watched.

 

  1. Plug all boxes into a surge protector
  • This prevents electrical surges from damaging your streaming device(s).
  • Power strips, extension cords, and plugging directly into the wall outlet can cause damage to your streaming device

 

  1. Run a Speed Test
  • Recommended speed to your streaming device is 25 MPBS or higher.
  • Locate and open the FAST speed test app installed on your streaming device.
  • Go to the Helpful Tips section to watch a video showing how to test your network speed

 

  1. Use optimal internet connection
  • Hard wire connection with an ethernet cord is the best option (If applicable)
  • For Wi-Fi connection, use 2G or 5G Wi-Fi based on location of the streaming device in the home. (etc. bedroom, living room)
  • 2G Wi-Fi is the best connection if the streaming device is at a distance or in a separate area from your Wi-Fi router. While 2G is a weaker signal, it travels very well through walls.
  • 5G is only recommended if the streaming device is in the same location or room as your Wi-Fi router.
  • 5G is a stronger signal but does not travel well through walls.

 

  1. Close the live TV app when not in use
  • Do not allow the live tv app to play for an excessive amount of time.
  • This will cause buffering and other issues.

 

  1. Use Cleaning App
  • Easily keep your streaming devices free of cache and excess files.
  • Go to the Helpful Tips section to watch a video showing how to use the Cleaning App
